My baby girl had her wisdom teeth pulled last Wednesday. We decided she should come from Orlando and have it done in Tampa so she could recoup with us. I had to work so Fred took her. I asked him to video the moments so I could feel like I was there.... it's ok to post this. Steph got a big laugh out of it herself. What is really funny, she doesn't remember any of it....

She did really well. No side effects from the anesthesia. All was great until the numbness wore off. She has been in a lot of pain. On 2 percocets every 4 1/2 hours and 1 codeine in between and the girl STILL couldn't get any sleep. That was crazy. The swelling came on Thursday, she was the prettiest chipmunk you will ever see!!

She went home today (against my wishes) . She is still a bit swollen but doing much better. We colored her hair, she took a nice warm shower and felt 'human' again.... she is taking off from work tomorrow but hoping to be back on Tuesday.... the biggest thing is that she is so weak from not eating....
The one bright thing in all of this is that she was thrilled to have lost 5lbs. (not that she didn't already look great!) But you know how girls are about weight....

Prayers are still needed on her behalf. It's going to be tough getting back to her schedule after being down for 5 days.

Kim Walker

Our youth pastor shared this artist on his blog. I have never heard of her, but I like her... she has a unique voice.
And I right away thought that Laci would like it, so Laci, I hope you keep up with my blog! :)

Fun In The Sun

We went to Fort DeSoto this past Saturday... Steph said she wanted to fish, but after seeing her dad take the hooks off the fish, she changed her mind. She kept saying "Dad! you're killing the fish!" "it's suffocating!" hehe

So, we let Bella entertain us in the water. She just loves the water. And for some reason, she went spastic and started running really fast in circles. It was a hoot!

Easter and flower pics

These are some pictures we took in Tenn. I think they are so pretty, I may blow them up and frame them....

Easter was, well, quiet... Stephany (favorite daughter) came from Orlando. She came to church with us. Saw Andy from afar. He sat with another family. Steph tried to get him to go out with us for lunch, but he declined. So, the 3 of us went to Longhorn. We had a nice time catching up with Stephany, so that was good. Then, came home and just relaxed. James showed up in the evening and the quiet was gone. (haha!)

I sat in church, watching Andy sit with a family not his own, and catching sight of another family that (in my own opinion) have had some influence in what has happened. And all kinds of bitter things start going through my head. Yeah, Ressurection Sunday and that's what I am doing in church. Great, huh?
Well, that's when God started breaking me down. It seemed every song had words for me. Yes, there are people that I believe have not helped the problem, but he has his own will and he is ultimately responsible for his actions.
I think I am progressing on this road of 'letting go'. It still hurts like crazy, but I am moving forward. Life goes on.

I tried to download the video but it wouldn't let me, so here is a link to the video of one of the songs played on Sunday. It's actually my church but from last year. It's funny though, the girl singing it is wearing the same dress that she wore on Sunday. he he!

We have rappers in the house!

This is what the youth did this past Wednesday night... It was called Mega Wednesday, a high attendance emphasis. They had a guest band and gave away prizes... the 3 guys are the youth pastor, the middle school pastor and the guy who makes all the videos.
Jason, I thought you would like this since you used to do some crazy stuff in youth...

true Love Waits

this is another video that a young guy at our church made for the youth... I think they are showing in during Disciple Now weekend...
I work with the girl in video at our MAC (gym) at church. I told her I was so impressed at how she could keep a straight face. She said it took about 10 takes for her not to laugh! Oh well, the finished product was good...

For Thou O Lord

This past Wednesday we had Pastor Fred Lutter from Franklin Avenue Baptist in New Orleans speak at our church. It was a "Super Bowl Rally" sponsored by the Tampa Bay Baptist Association. He was pretty good, but again, our choir sang a song that ministered to me.
The only good video I could find of "For thou, O Lord" was of the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir... darn! I guess you will have to suffer through it... hehe

Shine on Us

Things are kinda painful right now...

at church this morning, the worship leader led us in this song... the line I clung to was "in the darkest night ..." that's where I feel I am right now. But I KNOW God is faithful and His light will shine on me, His grace will fall on me, His love will come over me.

Here is Avalon singing it (I love this group)

Distractions

Great message about not letting things distract us from the REAL meaning of Christmas... plus it's funny!
in case you don't catch it, Andy gets run over by a Hummer...

In the 'spirit' of Halloween

Zack is at it again... he created this video to go with Jeremy's Wednesday night series "Mask". The message is that good witnesses don't wear masks. Nobody likes christians who act one way around christians and another around nonbelievers.

Jackpot Hobo

this one was made to go with a Wednesday night lesson... personally, I don't think it's that funny, but my kid is in it, so I am posting it... :)

MAC video

This was made by Zack Nottingham, the youth pastor's brother, to promote our new MAC. Zack does hillarious videos, so I am thinking of posting them here when we comes up with new ones...
By the way, youth pastor is the one in the basketball jersey, Zack is in the white shirt, and the big guy is Andy Peavyhouse. He runs the youth/singles praise band.

The End of The Beginning

I know, 3rd video in a row...
but I ran into this one through another blog. It's Bell Shoals Baptist performing my favorite song. It's originally sung by David Phelps. I heard him sing at the Baptist Convention a couple of years ago. In this video, it also has a guy named Brian Keith Daniel doing a painting during the song. I couldn't tell what it was till the end, then it blew my mind. Hope you all enjoy!

Great message

The youth pastor's brother (20) is really good at making videos. He made this one for a series his brother was doing with the youth. If you look REALLY hard at the soccer shots, look for the red shoes. That's Andy. But I didn't post it just cuz Andy was in it. It has a great message

MAC Dedication

God has blessed our church with the ability to build a "Ministry & Activity Center". Construction only took 8 months (faster than our house and this thing is the size of a YMCA!).
http://www.fbcbrandon.org/fusion.cfm?Action=recreation/recreation&Menu=Recreation

It has all kinds of things and will be used in all kinds of ways. But more importantly, we pray it will be used as a 'net' to bring people to Christ. I have signed up to be a volunteer staff. I am hoping that since I will be committed to working there, I will go ahead and 'work out' while I am there. In theory, that should work, right?

We had a dedication service last night. Here is a video of it. I think it's a little grainy, but hopefully you can get it...

Andy and Boston's 'More Than a Feeling'

Andy went to Youth camp for the first time a couple of weeks ago. He had a blast. One of the chaperones was the brother of our youth pastor. Zack is 19 and very good with video. He has made several videos for church as well as just for fun. You can find them on youtube under the name: djsacky.

Here is a link to a 'music' video he did with the guys in his cabin. It's pretty funny and if you watch closely, you can catch Andy here and there... the reason I didn't post it directly to the blog is because there are teen boys in boxers, so watch at your own disgression. (there's nothing vulgar) :)
